At&t Phone Insurance Question?

I was wondering you know that when you purchase insurance on a phone and lets say my phone breaks..i have a samsung blackjack...but i call insurance and tell them my iphone broke and i need a new one...will they find out that i sent them back the wrong phone?? like even if i get online and change my account to saying that i have an iphone?? Someone told me that the person that sends it too you is different than the one that gets it back when you send the "defective Blackjack"...if they say that i got a blackjack then i could say i sent them one?? please answer this..
