Which theme park is better, Alton Towers OR Drayton Manor?

Me my mum and my 9 year old brother have to choose a theme park to go to. My brother and my mum like entertaining family rides that are not very scary whereas I love thrill rides that are scary. I know Alton Towers have thrill rides. Does Alton Towers have any children rides and family ones?Which one is better? Is it true that Alton Towers have long ques which you have to wait hours for?
