12 month old babies poop looks like sand?

My son is 12 months and when I changed his diaper today, it LITERALLY looked like someone threw a huge handful of sand in his diaper (which did not happen). There were small "pebbles" of poop but the majority of it was grainy like sand. I am just wondering if this is normal... I have never had this with my other 3 kids. It seemed very dry as well (not that I felt it or anything... it just looked that way :) Anyone ever experience this?
