Where would the comp point if I was in Australia?

Where would a comp point if I were in Australia? This is a question my teacher asked me (im 13) for bonus marks. I have to answer by tomorrow and need to say why. I'm guessing its South because its in the southern hemisphere and magnetic south will make it point south...am I wrong if so explain please =D
